These were the days my friends!

COMMONWEALTH HALL 1997-98

THE UNOFFICIAL GALLERY

Below are some of the friends I made when I lived in halls, in my first year at university. You may find one or two of them a little strange; we did have a tendency to indulge in really silly behaviour when the mood took us - which was as often as you would expect for a bunch of students.

This is Allen, ex-room 332. He is hoping to graduate with a degree in climbing walls. His interests are swords, air rifles, Christina next door, whether it was really two lesbians we saw kissing on the stairs, and whether they need a third person, running whilst carrying heavy rucksacks, beer, Bournville chocolate and taking the piss out of Sticky Ricky from 301.
This is Arran, ex-room 323, currently room 822 - yes, the mad person decided to stay on for another year. He is going to graduate with a first in Chemistry and go on to be the perfect mad scientist. His interests include Arranism, looking out of the window, trying to ignore Allen and me when we are trying to get him to come out for a walk when he's got a paper due, and pondering the great questions in life, such as can God create a rock which is too heavy for him to lift, and why is Coral so damn rude?! When our team won the pub quiz after correctly guessing the number of stops on the London Underground, it was him who knew

(Left)This statue is outside the School of Oriental and African Studies. Andrew thought he needed some beer. (Right) We'd played Quasar and lost. We'd had a frenzied game of ibble dibble which got rather out of hand when Allen brought his camouflage paint. What else was there left to do but the YMCA?

Life has never been this interesting since
